MVP titles awarded to TWO members of the AuraQ team

We are thrilled that not only one, but two members of the AuraQ team have been awarded the Mendix Most Valuable Professional (MVP) title!! This is incredibly exciting for us as an organisation and recognises the hard work, commitment and contribution our team have made to the Mendix platform.

Double celebration

With 7 new MVP’s announced last month, it was a double celebration for AuraQ as both Iain Lindsay (Technical Director) and Mohammed Siddiqui (Principal Business Engineer) were given the MVP title – proving that they have the expertise, leadership and evangelism required to become part of the Program. With only three MVP’s in the UK, this is quite an achievement!

Becoming an MVP

The MVP selection is announced twice yearly with Mendix selecting a small number of professionals from across the globe to become MVP’s. The purpose of the MVP Program is to provide a way in which to recognise the contributions and impact of makers who go above and beyond.

The Program empowers the Community but the role of MVP isn’t given lightly. Both Iain and Mohammed are very humble about the role but to achieve MVP has taken much hard work with a thorough review of online and offline contributions over the past 12 months. MVP’s are highly regarded by Mendix and to achieve MVP is an exciting recognition of the input both Iain and Mohammed have given to the Mendix Community; whether this is being engaged in helping others or actively sharing their own success stories.

For both Iain and Mohammed, being involved in the Community has become second-nature “Community engagement offers vast support for us as Mendix professionals, sharing content and knowledge through Community tools such as the App Store and Forum allows us to speed up the development process for our customers and continually improve.”

Active roles in the Community

The Mendix Community currently has more than 120,000 members. Both Iain and Mohammed achieved MVP by actively and regularly being involved on the Forum, Mendix Community Slack, Maker Meetups, webinars and blogs. Iain has presented at many of the UK meetups and is a regular contributor to the App store, he commented “Being part of the growing Mendix Community is a great way to meet fellow professionals and help inspire solutions. The meetups in particular are a great way to share knowledge with like-minded developers.”

Their new status means that they, and AuraQ, will benefit from detailed insight into the Mendix product roadmap and in-depth sessions with product management. Becoming an MVP is a unique position within the community and both Iain and Mohammed are excited about what this opportunity represents . Mohammed commented “the biggest benefit this insight will bring is the ability to translate our knowledge of what’s coming into more meaningful and future proof solutions for our customers.”

The role also comes with responsibility and as such, MVPs Iain and Mohammed will also provide feedback on the roadmap, help test new products and act as the voice of the community. Mohammed added “Through the MVP Slack channel, we have the ability to reach out to other MVPs and Mendix professionals to help better support our customers and improve the platform. I’m excited for the opportunity this represents going into 2020!”

Iain is equally looking forward to what the role will bring in the New Year adding “2020 looks to be an busy year for AuraQ with several new Mendix projects starting in January. I am looking forward to supporting our customers maximise their investment in the platform, helping them to drive innovation within their organisations with Mendix at the heart of their digital and transformation strategy.”
